About Caroline’s Feast
Hello! I’m Caroline and welcome to my Feast! I created this blog to share my love of cooking fresh, seasonal food, and to provide encouragement if you’re dealing with candida and leaky gut syndrome like me. I am on a mission to heal my own gut and relationship with food, and this blog is a part of the journey.
I create recipes that make your tummy happy. All my recipes are gluten-free and refined sugar free. They will always be colourful and delicious. I loosely follow a full GAPS diet approach, meaning I avoid grains and starches as much as possible. I am not dogmatic about my diet though; my bottom line is no gluten, no refined sugar. As I am feeling better, I “indulge” from time to time. Don’t be scandalized if there is the occasional recipe featuring buckwheat or the like.
I used to be a vegetarian, but I’m not anymore. But I eat a heck of a lot of vegetables and fruit, they make up the bulk of my diet. As a native Vancouverite Canadian, I will probably always be obsessed with superfoods, veganism and super creative plant-based dishes.
I live in Brussels, Belgium, am married to a Frenchman with a big Russian family, have brothers in law from Italy, Lebanon and Iran and a very international circle of friends. I am so fortunate to have such an arsenal of cultural and creative stimulus, and am constantly inspired to learn about traditional cuisine from around the world.
I’m a mom. I have two really amazing children that take up a lot of my energy. But this isn’t a mommy blog, so that’s all I’m going to say.
I love nut butter like the desert loves the rain. When I four, I was convinced that I invented the peanut butter and jam sandwich. I was later dismayed to learn that I didn’t, but I still have sexual perfectly normal fantasies about nut butter on a regular basis.
I hope this blog will give you not only ideas for things to make in the kitchen, but also encouragement during your darkest most bloated hour, and inspiration to make every day a feast.
